The following incidents were taken, in part, from the Mesquite Police Department blotter for the week of September 16-22, 2012. All persons mentioned in these reports are presumed innocent until proven innocent by the court.
9/16/12 Neighborhood Dispute: Officers responded to a battery call at an apartment complex. Investigation revealed that a battery did not occur and that the complainant was intoxicated and was acting disorderly with his neighbors.
9/17/12 Harassment: Police were contacted about a male that was harassing a citizen over the phone in an attempt to collect money. The male was contacted and advised an investigation would be opened in the matter.
9/18/12 Fraud: Officers took a report of a fraud on San Lucas Way.
9/18/12 Burglary: Police responded to a residential burglary on Lake View Drive. Forced entry had been made but it appeared no items were missing while the residents had been away.
9/18/12 Burglary: Police responded to an attempted residential burglary on Vista Drive. An attempt had been made to enter the residence and an investigation is on-going.
9/18/12 Wanted Person: An inmate of the Utah State Prison in Draper, UT was arrested on a Mesquite Justice Court felony warrant.
9/18/12 Suicidal Person: Police were called to the parking lot of a local casino in reference to a person who made comments about wanting to kill himself. Police contacted a very intoxicated male who said he wanted to kill himself. He was transported to Mesa View Hospital for evaluation.
9/19/12 Domestic Dispute: Officers responded to a residence about a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed the female had struck the male. She was arrested for domestic battery.
9/19/12 Theft: Police were called to a fast food restaurant on Sandhill regarding a theft from a bank account.
9/19/12 Theft: Officers took a report from a citizen about the theft of a license place from the victims motorcycle while it was parked at his place of work.
9/20/12 Fight: Police responded to a condominium complex regarding a report of a fight. Subsequently, two adult males were taken into custody for probation violations and one male was arrested for two counts of domestic battery.
9/20/12 Suspicious Person: Officers responded to a report of a person on a local street panhandling. The man was warned about begging.
9/20/12 Threats: Police responded to a residence regarding threats made by a family member against other family members. The female making the threats also made threats to harm herself. She was taken to Mesa View Hospital for evaluation.
9/21/12 Theft: Police responded to a casino on W. Mesquite Boulevard regarding the theft of copper wire. An investigation is continuing.
9/21/12 Theft: Officer responded to a construction site regarding the theft of tools and copper wire.
9/21/12 Drunk Driver Arrest: Police responded to a call about a car that just ran into a garage door of a residence. The driver was arrested for DUI.
9/21/12 Drunk Driver Arrest: An officer stopped a vehicle that nearly collided with his police car. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested.
9/22/12 Business License Violation: Police received a call about individuals going door to door selling items without a license. One adult male was cited for an ordinance violation.
9/22/12 Burglary: Police received a report of a commercial burglary on Sandhill Boulevard. Someone had gained entry to the business through the roof.
