The City of Mesquite Community and Senior Center will be hosting its first Western Hoe-Down Friday, July 6. The event will consist of a Barbeque Dinner from 4-5:30 p.m. and the dance from 5:30-8 p.m. The dinner menu will consist of BBQ Pull Pork, Chicken Wings, Baked Potato, Coleslaw, Corn on the Cob, Dinner Roll and a Cherry Cobbler. Cost of tickets are $10 per person in advance, $15 at the door.
Although not mandatory, Western Theme dressing is encouraged. “Country Dream” will be providing a variety of songs for your listening and dancing pleasure. A photo booth will be provided for those that will like a small memorabilia. So, mosey on over to the community center, put on your western attire and join us for a delicious dinner and dance. Proceeds will go towards the Bingo and Swing Dance program.
Walmart is sponsoring an event catering to the senior citizen community on Saturday, July 21, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at its store on W. Pioneer Blvd. There will be 20 organizations present with helpful information including vision, insurance, healthcare services, and much more. There will be food and drink samples. Prizes will be given throughout the event. There will be a more detailed flyer coming soon. So, save the date. |
