The following incidents were take, in part, from the Mesquite Police Department blotter during the week of May 13-19, 2012. All persons included in these incidents are presumed innocent until proved guilty by the court.
5/13/12 Warrant arrest: Officers made contact with a woman who appeared to be under 18 in violation of curfew. She turned out to have 12 active arrest warrants and was taken to jail.
5/14/12 Disturbance: Security officers called police to help with a domestic dispute at a local hotel. As officers spoke to those involved, the female slapped a security guard. She was taken to jail.
5/14/12 Theft: A citizen reported two Ipods were taken from his hotel room.
5/14/12 Battery: A woman reported that her son was involved in a physical alteration after school.
5/15/12 Suspicious Circumstance: Officers responded to a local business about a report that an employee had stolen some merchandise from the business. After speaking to the employer, it was determined he was not sure if anything was stolen.
5/15/12 Drowning: Officers responded to a report of a three year old child being swept away by the irrigation canal. She was later found drowned.
5/15/12 Domestic Dispute: An officer was at a motel when he observed a domestic dispute in progress. As a result, the male was taken to jail.
5/15/12 Arson: Police responded to a casino on a report of several small fires set in a shrub and palm tree. Investigation was turned over to the fire department.
5/15/12 Burglary: A resident reported a burglary on Ironwood Drive. The side door to the garage was forcible entered.
5/16/12 Graffiti: Officers responded to a report of graffiti painted on a wall.
5/16/12 Theft: The manager of a fast food restaurant reported the theft of money by an employee.
5/16/12 Found Property: A citizen reported finding a bag behind a business that contained female clothing.
5/17/12 Traffic problem: Officers assisted a driver who had run into the median and flattened a tire. He was found to have a suspended license.
5/17/12 Citizen Assist: Officers responded to a complaint from a citizen that he was being harassed by other police officers.
5/18/12 Vandalism: Police responded to a report of vandalism to a security camera at a casino.
5/18/12 Family dispute: Officers responded to a verbal argument between a husband and wife. The wife agreed to leave for the night to cool down.
